A week with Chantel

Chantel @Pawboutik
It was a typical Thursday at Paw Boutik, when my mom showed up with a tiny, mini version of me!  Her words exactly: "Zoe, meet Chantel".  Chantel was 9lbs of fluff and energy.  Later that evening I learned that Chantel was rescued from the mountains of Puerto Rico.  She was homeless and injured.  Lucky for her, some very nice group of people, Second Chance Animal Rescue took her in, cared for her and, played with her too, I'm sure!  Once recovered, pampered and spayed she was ready to find her forever home.  That is where we come in!  Since some of Paw Boutik's sale proceeds go to help Forever Loved (non-profit organization based in Minneapolis) it was a matter of time before we offered to help them by fostering a Puertorrican rescued dog (sato).  Well.....that time, my mom decided, had come.
I was more curious than anything at the beginning.  Then I was a little jealous, I would admit, but then....  I realized, I had a playmate, YEAY!!  So much fun having a a little friend to play and run around the house with.  Mom was not as thrilled with the indoor racing but we loved it!  I taught her how to play tug of war and how to sneak into the human's beds....basically, all doodle things a dog must learn.

Soon enough the interest to adopt Chantel peaked.  Mom took her to a few "meet and greet".  Everyone was so wonderful and ready to love this sweet dog.  I was very happy to hear that!  Then....this happened... Chantel met two cute little girls.  I was told Chantel's eyes and entire body lit up with excitement when she saw them.  The three of them bouncing with joy!  "This is it", my mom thought, this is her forever family and these are her human sisters.
Chantel stayed with us for just a week but we will forever remember her.  I enjoyed having a little sister at our home but we couldn't be happier for her.  Special thanks to Second Chance Animal Rescue Puerto Rico (SCARPR) for rescuing her and to Forever Loved for finding her a forever home.

Friends, meet Penny (formerly Chantel).  We love her.
